It was a nice afternoon on Tuesday, so I headed out to the garden after work and attempted to photograph some bees that were on the lavender plant.
I have been quite disappointed this year with the amount of butterflies in the garden. Despite having a buddlea tree all they do is fly around the garden, then over the fence!
So I thought I’d concentrate on the bees instead. After about 10 minutes I’d taken about 150 shots and had to go inside to review the images. As expected, trying to get a pin sharp image of the bees on bouncing lavender flowers is really very difficult! I only took about 10 out the first batch, so headed back out to try again. Another 50 shots and only about another 8 images. The statement ‘Busy as a Bee’ is no understatement, they just don’t keep still!
I changed tact and turned my attention to a different plant and tried again, this time with hoverflies. Result! 3 images, 3rd one spot on! Then another 6 images again all spot on.
This was the 3rd image.
So, still no butterflies though nor a really pin sharp bee image, but I’ll keep on trying.
