Up Hills, and alongs the Beach
Yesterday we planned to go to Hegistbury Head. We were in for a real treat, as I think is must have been the best day of the year with the weather. Although, a little cold with the wind on the sea front!
I thought I might get to see some wading birds there or maybe a Kestrel, sadly it was a no show. In the distance I think I saw 2 Curlews and one bird flew in that I am yet to identify.
So what did we see? Some lovely small dunes, lots of quaint beach huts, and small land trains, and some mud! There was a lovely pond that seem to have been created out of a quarry, but we didn’t see any Natterjack Toads.
There was a lovely view along the beach, nice wet sand and an pebbles, with a wispy blue sky!
Lastly, in the distance as the Christchurch Church. I liked this photo, with the reed field in the foreground.
After about a 3 hour round trip walk, we got back to the car and headed off to our next location, a church in Burton to do some investigation work!
